I waited YEARS to come back here. My first finding and eating here was in 2021/2022. The Jamaican food & service was top, I couldn't wait to return. Forwarding on to December 2025 after waiting for the islands public day to pass 30 November 2025. The food has changed. I was liking the food until I found the hair, felt a bit sick, told the server and her explanation is that, in a word is "normal"and happened before and it's the hair from the meat/Goat. Now, I've eaten in MANNNYYY Jamaica food takeaways & restaurants IN Jamaica & parts of the world. NEVER have I seen hair from the "meat". Jamaicans are KNOWN for washing their meat thoroughly !!! I paid my bill in full and look to not return to IRIE Foods, I've seeked and found other Jamaica food places on the island of Barbados. The server didn't even OFFER to discount my bill after my unhappiest.
I recently visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The dishes were delicious, authentic Jamaican cuisine full of flavor, and you could really taste the richness and authenticity in every bite. Definitely one of the highlights of the experience. I also thought it was really cool that they offered branded freezer meals for sale. Since the food is so delicious, it’s a great idea to be able to take some home and enjoy it again later. Unfortunately, the customer service left much to be desired. The staff gathered around the bar area were quite loud throughout the visit, often competing with the music that was already playing, which affected the overall dining atmosphere. In addition, when I gestured to the waitress to request a drink, her response came across as irritated, which made the interaction feel less warm and attentive than expected. Given the quality of the food, a more polished service experience would make a significant difference.
I had to leave a review for Irie Foods because the experience was genuinely so special. We came in for my daughters 12th birthday and somehow the staff overheard us talking about it. One of the lovely ladies quietly pulled me aside and asked what her favourite song was… then a couple of minutes later they came out with cake, sparklers and the whole team singing Happy Birthday while everyone clapped for her. 🥹 They absolutely did not have to do that but they made my daughter feel so special and she loved every second of it. Moments like that really stay with you. On top of that the food was incredible. My daughter had the Rasta Pasta and rated it 10/10 and I had the coconut curry chicken which was honestly a million/10 😭🔥 Everything was full of flavour, fresh and the portions were really good too. Definitely good value for money. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and genuinely caring staff. We’ll 100% be back… in fact, we’re already coming back today 😂❤️ Thank you again Irie Foods for making her birthday so memorable.
I can not say enough great things about this place!!! At first I was worried because I was in my bathing suit with cover… thankfully they were able to still assist me outside! This place hit ALLLLLLL of our weak spots! It reminded us of home! The curry goat was AMAZING! That sauce on top of my ackee and salt fish was to die for! They were accommodating, and then the flavours were soooo good we wanted more! Since arriving to the country I’ve been on the hunt for curry fish and with no success until then! They were able to accommodate our custom order, quickly and it tasted just as good as the meal before! I wish I could take them home with us! Thank you so much for such amazing service and even better such amazing food!
The staff during our recent visit were exceptionally accommodating. My mother was feeling unwell and requested a completely unspiced meal; the kitchen thoughtfully prepared a wonderful dish that left her feeling nourished and delighted. I thoroughly enjoyed the ackee and saltfish, which was executed perfectly. I highly recommend requesting their homemade pepper sauce—it is an outstanding addition to the meal. A superb experience overall!
I will give an honest review: First thing is, when watching at the menue on Google, please look at the most recent picture you find on here. The prices have increased several times within a year. The staff is cool and listening to Buju while waiting and eating is, fa sure, Irie! Red Stripe Honey Garlic wings is Fyah! Really good. No Ital or Vegan on the menu is not proper to authentic Jamaican cuisine. To me. Portions are as usual, TOO SMALL! Jamaican restaurants haffi change dis, finally. I had Curry Goat Meal plus Wings, still not full. You neva fi leave satisfied. Jasmine rice with the Curry Goat is interesting, I prefer Rice and Peas still.
Very spacious and welcoming. Food was awesome. The jerk squce is on the spicey side so taste before mixing into food.
We visited Irie Foods a couple of nights ago….beautiful rain storm during dinner. Delicious food, friendly service. I had the coconut curry chicken and my partner had the jerk chicken. Generous servings. Recommended!
